GAA Mission
By sharing information and collaborating, among GAA Members, and advocating on international issues important to the profession, The Global Accounting Alliance serves the public interest and leads the advancement of a high-quality accounting profession.
The GAA has the following strategic priorities:
Information Sharing
The GAA Member Bodies will regularly convene their staff to facilitate the sharing and exchange of non-competitive information and to meet with relevant external stakeholders, via Board and Working Group in-person and virtual meetings, for the mutual benefit of the participating GAA Member Bodies.
Cooperation
The GAA Member Bodies will work together to identify challenges facing Member Bodies, and the profession in general, and consider how to meet these challenges and plan for the future, either as the GAA or as individual Member Bodies, as required.
Some, or all, of the GAA Members may pursue joint initiatives and projects where the combination of their individual expertise and sharing of costs may result in economies of scale or other mutual benefits.
Influence and Advocacy
The GAA maintains a regular review of the activities and plans of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and engages in regular dialogue with IFAC leadership and other key stakeholders of the accounting profession. Where practical, the GAA will attempt to guide and influence the profession.
Our People
The GAA secretariat operates out of the offices of Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, Chartered Professional Accountants Canada, and Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
